Analysis: Ilgauskas, averaging a career-low 7.9 points due to the addition of Shaquille O'Neal, hadn't scored more than 16 points in a game this season, but it was his 50th career 25-point performance. Despite his decreased scoring, Ilgauskas has hit all four of his 3-point attempts this season.

The sellout crowd inside the Q responded with a standing ovation for the beloved 7-foot-3 center, known simply as 'Z.' He also is the team's career leader in rebounds and blocked shots. Ilgauskas, whose career was nearly ended by foot injuries, is one of four players in team history to score 10,000 points.

"I'm not trying to stir up anything with coach or whatever is going on with the organization, but sometimes one game is the smaller things. What was on the line was something way bigger than us playing the Mavericks. That was Z breaking the record." Ilgauskas declined interview requests Saturday night and on Monday.
